Diapontia
(Othonoi - Erikousa - Mathraki)

Erikousa
Strolls through cypress trees , lentisks and heathers , indulging in the scent of wild herbs , beaches hidden in vegetation. Erikousa welcomes you .
It is 6 miles north of cape Drastis of Northern Corfu and it is the northernmost of the isles north of Corfu. It probably ows its name to the bush heather , which abandons here and which blossoms in October with pink/mauve flowers with a sweet characteristic scent . The highest peak of the isle is Merovigli , with height 120m.
The isle is full of olive trees and cypress trees. The sights of the island are the traditional Oil mills , which produce to this day olive oil in the traditional way , the churches with the stone belltowers and the traditional settlements. However, in reality, the most important sight of the island are its wonderful beaches .
You will get here by regular ships from Corfu and from Sidari as well as by fishing boats and excursion boats from most shores of the northern part of Corfu.

Mathraki
Mathraki is the southernmost and smallest island (3.1 sq. km) among the three isles in the North of Corfu.
Home to approximately 100 residents, it is only 4 miles off Arillas cape. It is so rich in vegetation, that sometimes it is hard to discern the houses of its settlements though the green leaves.
Several wonderful old stone paths start from the main road and lead visitors to places with panoramic view. The cement-covered street starts from the port and goes to the golf 'Apidies', where we can still find the foundations of an old port, which has now been deserted and is used only as a harbor by fishermen.
Towards the Southern coast (Kato Panta), the region Giorga has got many houses all over it, old and new ones, which lie under the shadow of huge olive trees.
From the 'Chorio' settlement, you can go to the SE part of Mathraki, cape 'Arvanitico', through a dirt road, which leads to a calm gulf with fine sand. Absolute serenity, heavenly peace and a plain taverna just off the shore giving you the chance to take a pleasant break.
At the Northeast, the immense beach of 'Portelo', with fine sand and crystal shallow water, which deepens gradually, can be accessible and friendly to visitors of all ages
At the West there is Heaven for harpooners and scuba-divers.
Here you will meet tourists staying at the two hostels, the yachts and sailing boats. At Mathraki there is a local GP. You will come here by ship from Corfu town or Agios Stephanos, at the NW of Corfu, as well as by sea cab or boat.

Othonoi
It is the Westernmost part of Greece; it is a small heavenly place, with scattered settlements, a few rented houses, a couple of taverna's around the port, relics of Venetian fortresses and a sensation of absolute serenity. Othoni is the biggest of the isles to the north of Corfu.
You can wander in the cobbled streets with the traditional houses, the old churches, the relics of the Venetian fortress and enjoy the enchanting view. The scenery with hills up to 393 meters offers endless possibilities for trekking. Rent a boat for the beach with the emerald water and the sea cave where, as myth has it, nymph Kalypso had imprisoned Ulysses.
On the island there is a police station and a port authority office, as well as a local GP.
